Dear Patients,
I hope that you are healthy and managing well with all the changes in your lives.
This week, Governor Northam issued Executive Order Number 62. He stated that our specific area still has unfavorable COVID-19 metrics, and mentioned that “PPE for outpatient facilities continues to be a challenge.”
Although we have permission to open for some patient procedures, the risk and disrupted supply stream for PPE still makes this unwise.
We are beginning to see some patients for time-urgent procedures and emergencies in limited numbers, but we must continue to delay routine procedures.
The order places our region in “Phase Zero” until May 29th, and given the current case numbers and hospitalizations in Northern Virginia, we will need to continue to evaluate our long-awaited re-opening until after this date.
We have been in contact with our Department of Health, state representatives, senators, and the governor’s office to advise them of our frustrations with lack of PPE and testing, which are some of the obstacles in the way of a safe opening for our patients and staff.
Each day involves implementing our plan to provide a safe environment physically and procedurally when we can finally welcome you back.
Please continue to care for yourselves so that no one experiences any adverse consequences resulting from this hiatus from professional dental care and please do not hesitate to call the office if you have any dental concerns or emergencies.
My Best Regards,
Dr. DeWitt and Staff
