Reshape Your Teeth and Smile
Veneers are very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile. As with most dental restorations, veneers are not permanent and may someday need replacement. They are very durable and will last many years, giving you a beautiful long lasting smile.
Reasons for porcelain veneers:
- Cosmetically, to create a uniform, white, beautiful smile.
- Crooked teeth.
- Misshapen teeth.
- Severely discolored or stained teeth.
- Teeth that are too small or large.
- Unwanted or uneven spaces.
- Worn or chipped teeth.
In addition to color, the size, shape and alignment of your teeth also affect your smile. Stained, chipped, or crooked teeth can keep you from smiling as frequently as you should. We offer quick and accessible treatment to deliver you the confident smile you deserve. If you would like to mask certain flaws on your teeth, porcelain veneers may be the option for you.
The Porcelain Veneers Procedure
Veneers are strong porcelain shells painlessly bonded to the outside of your teeth. They are custom made to fit and look like natural teeth.
The placement process requires three stages:
The first stage involves planning. In the initial visit, you will collaborate with Dr. DeWitt to determine the veneer shape, size, and shade.
The second stage requires preparing. Dr. DeWitt will need to remove a small amount of enamel from your designated teeth to make room for the veneers. You will be fitted with temporary veneers, which will protect your tooth while the veneers are being prepared in the lab.
The last stage is the actual placing of the veneers. When you are happy with the look and feel, light energy will be used to harden the adhesive.
